Another visit

I was invited by The Midlands Federation of Museums and Art Galleries to speak at one of their meetings. So on 17th May I set out on an expedition to the darkest depths of West Bromwich. Never having been there I imagined a terrifying maze of streets through an industrial landscape. It was a bit of a maze ‘cos there were road works but it’s the best signposted part of the West Midlands I’ve ever been in. I was going to a place called The Public.

Don’t know if you know it – I’d only heard of it as something in the news and not taken much notice. It’s a smashing place, if you get the chance do go.

One of the speakers at the meeting was, How to be a Retronaut blogger, Chris Wild. There are some fantastic pictures on this site, especially some called the, Ghost of Amsterdam. These are pictures from the end of the World War II overlaid with pictures of the same places from the present time – rather disturbing actually.
